Chatham County is at a defining moment in its history. We are attracting new residents, employers, and investment while retaining the agricultural landscapes, tight-knit communities, and authentic character that have always defined this community.

The Chatham Chamber of Commerce represents the businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations who are building our future. This document reflects our shared beliefs about the kind of community Chatham governments, businesses, and civic institutions must work together to create. These are not our legislative priorities for a given year. They are the convictions that guide our advocacy efforts to advance our mission, support our members, and promote a thriving Chatham County for everyone who lives, works, and invests here.

GOVERNMENT PARTNERSHIP AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The business community and local governments are both better with a relationship built on mutual respect, clear communication, and shared commitment to Chatham's future. We believe government that is efficient, transparent, and engaged with the private sector creates the conditions for growth.

A growing tax base is the most sustainable way to fund the public investments Chatham County needs — and to lower the burden on individual homeowners and businesses over time. The Chamber believes that attracting commercial and industrial investment, spending public dollars efficiently, and planning responsibly for the long term are inseparable goals.

  • Clean drinking water and wastewater capacity that stays ahead of demand
